Brisbane Pool Safety Inspections

Before you book your pool safety inspection it is important to make sure your pool/spa is registered on the QBCC Pool Register, which you can do here.  Once your pool is registered, give Goliath Pool Safety Inspections a call to book a pool safety inspection and we will email you confirmation of your booking and pre-inspection checklist. The pre-inspection checklist is handy tool that includes items that are most common reasons for a pool receiving a Form 26 Non-Conformity Notice.  Your Goliath Pool Safety Inspector will then come to your property and conduct your pool inspection. Where there are minor repairs you can choose to have our inspector make them at that time which can help reduce the cost and avoid re-inspection fees. Where your pool is not compliant a Non-Conformity Notice will be emailed to you within 48 hours of your pool safety inspection. Where your pool is compliant we will have your pool safety certificate issued to you by the close of business the following working day.

QLD Pool Safety Laws

In December 2008, Queensland's Premier announced the most comprehensive review of Queensland Swimming Pool Safety laws in almost 20 years which look to reduce the occurance of drowning or injury in young children in swimming pools.  As a result of this review, the Government announced on September 14th 2009 the implementation of a two staged swimming pool management strategy which applied to all new and existing pool owners in Queensland.

All pool owners had until 30th November 2015 to comply with the new pool safety laws or sooner if the property was sold or lease to which a pool safety certificate was required at that time. Under the new laws, a pool safety certificate is required each time a property is sold or leased and every pool is required to be registered on the Queensland Governments Pool Safety Register. Once a pool has a pool safety certificate; privately owned pools require a pool safety inspection every two (2) years and shared pools are required to be inspected annually. All pool safety certificates must be obtained through a licenced pool safety inspector.

There is now only one pool safety standard in Queensland; the Queensland Development Code Mandatory Part 3.4.
